The First King's Cup Thailand 1968

     King's Cup was a well know international football tournament in Thailand and was participated by six countries such as Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Burma, Singapore and Malaysia. For the first time, it was held on 20 November - 2 December 1968 in Bangkok, Thailand. Malaysia was in Group 1, the same group with Thailand and Laos. Burma, Indonesia and Singapore were in Group 2.

     On the first game, Malaysia won against Laos with the scores of 5-0. But, in the second game, Malaysia lost to Thailand 0-3. Then, Malaysia qualified to semi-final game but lost to Indonesia 1-6. After that, Malaysia went into a match against Thailand for the third and fourth place determination. Unfortunately, Malaysia lost to Thailand 0-6 and gained the fourth place in this tournament. Indonesia became a champion for this tournament after won against Burma 1-0. Choo Seng Quee was a Malaysian team coach and Abdullah Nordin was a Malaysian team captain for this tournament.
